I'm a gal who's patiently waiting for the big 21 to arrive and basically a typical stressed-out student in Uni. Uni takes up about 50% of my life and thankfully the other half is taken up by God, my family and friends and my dearest sweetest, nicest "Teddy Bear, Clown, Entertainer and Lovable Sweetie".. Advantages of Singlehood...
What's so bad about being single? It's great to be a swingin' single.. so STOP asking me, "Do you have a bf already? Are you sure you don't have a bf? etc. etc."
I'm only 19. I know i'm going to hit the two-O soon... but still, I'm considered a teenager. In Archie Comics', it is known as the old-aged teen. Haha.. sounds cool eh? But I still don't understand why is it hard for other people to realise it's ok for me to still be single at 19. OH com'on it's not as though I am supposed to get married by next year or something. Well, these people expect me to have my first bf at age 18.. just like any other girls.. OH PLEASE. These days, girls at 11 are already having their first boyfriends! But so what. I have been fine being a single for the past 18 years and still counting.. it's just that people around me are irritating me about it, making me feel like a "loser" in some sense.
Hence, I've decided to list the TOP 10 advantages of being single.. to SHUT THOSE PEOPLE UP!
10. SINGLE is only 6 letters, whereas Attached has 8 and Married has 7. 9. You save money... loads of it........ trust me. You save on gifts such as birthday gift, 1st month to 11th month 'anniversary' gift, (i don't understand what's the point of counting even the months of the duration of a relationship when 90% of the time, you spend it on telling each other, "I love you forever." Oh please.) anniversary gifts, valentines' day gift, 'sorry' gifts, dates etc etc. ) 8. You don't have to bother about another person's feelings. 7. You can always be with your galfrenz and party all nite. 6. You can check out cute guys without feeling guilty. Can you imagine going down Orchard or walking along Sentosa without the ease of checking those hot hunks and bods??? HAhaha.. I certainly would cry man.. ^.^ 5. You can flirt and chat with cute guys without feeling guilty. 4. Can do whatever you like, whenever you like. 3. More free time for yourself. 2. You can pig out at buffets without thinking whether your bf would find you fat afterwards. This, I am most happiest about.. coz I can just eat all the things that I want!!! 1. You'll love yourself more!!! Why? Coz you don't need to love someone else ma... and that someone may not necessarily would love you as much.
muAAHAHA.. I'm so pleased with myself. Now that I've got my list... It makes me more certain that I like singlehood and will enjoy every single moment of it. ^.^ Why have fun as a pair when you have 10 times as much fun as a single? HeE!
