I am p*ssed off. Why? Because i don't understand why can't people just understand that I am already upset that my wallet was pickpocketed?!
Well, if you have read the previous blog, you'll know that moi had her wallet pickpocketed/ lost her wallet during a shopping trip down to Bugis Street of Singapore. And yep, I not only lost my wallet, but also the many stuff inside.
Well, definitely i can't live without having my debit cards, atm cards, identity card and ezlink card, so therefore I set out to have them all replaced.
The banks were kind enough to do a free replacement for me and my cards and they were very efficient in providing the service. UOB and DBS cancelled my cards immediately and even sent replacements within 48 hours. They activated my cards almost immediately, after I sent in my acknowledgement slip. But these are only the debit cards.
I called the banks to ask for replacement of my ATM cards and they requested that I go down to any of their branches to ask for a new one and pay $5 each. Gosh~ I don't understand, if they can offer my debit cards back for free, on learning my plight, why can't they do the same for my ATM cards?
Sigh... and then, i realised that i can't get my ATM cards because I need my IC to verify my identification which i don't have (because everything was lost remember?) and they required me to go back with my passport the next time.
So, i set off to find out how to replace my identification card. My goodness! I found out that i have to pay $100 for the first replacement! $100!!! I lost a total of $160 in cash in that wallet and I am freakin' broke and now i have to pay $100 for a card that proves that I am who I say i am? Gosh. The subsequent number of losses, you have to pay $300 for the replacement. What does this world believe in? Punishing those who are already upset enough?
I have been using the adult ezlink card because i have lost my student one and hence, have been topping up in cash for the use of the card. I topped up $30 in 4 days. I didn't know that local transportation was so expensive or just so easy to squander my money away. No wonder people are complaining about the price hikes. Sheesh..
So now, i set off to replace my Ezlink card. And guess what, I need to pay $21 for them to create a new ezlink card for me! And i still have to pay a $10 deposit to activate the card. And on top of that, since i want concession, i need to fork out another $96. My goodness.
My driver's license has got me really upset to. To make a new one, it costs $50. Can you imagine if i am a person who drives everyday and if i lose my driver's license that I have to pay for the new one and still wait for it to arrive in 2 weeks' time? What inconvenience it will cause!
Other than that, i need to replace my matriculation card, the identity card used in school and I have to pay another $15-20 for it.
I find it absolutely absurd that I have to pay for all these replacements when I didn't even ask to be pickpocketed. I am miserable with the loss and here i am, having to pay for all these freakin' cards and documents. I really hate the person who stole/took my wallet. Why can't he/she just send me back all the cards?! Keep that $160 for all i care. Just send me back the cards. You can't do anything with those cards and they mean nothing to you. But the loss of these cards is causing me agony.
