I'm a gal who's patiently waiting for the big 21 to arrive and basically a typical stressed-out student in Uni. Uni takes up about 50% of my life and thankfully the other half is taken up by God, my family and friends and my dearest sweetest, nicest "Teddy Bear, Clown, Entertainer and Lovable Sweetie".. The words, "Blood Donation" really makes me squirm. The thought of all the red fluid in your blood flowing into a bag is really gross especially when it's with the use of a gigantic needle. I am really put off by the idea of donating blood and there's really a perfectly good reason for that - I'm afraid of blood.
I know that i have fallen a couple of times, got scarred a number of times, bled a number of times and often, i don't faint at the sight of blood. But i really am put off by the sight of it. I don't donate blood also because of the fear of needles and it started when i was about 8 years old when i was admitted to hospital for Appendicitis and the stupid intern had to poke my hand like 3-4 times to get the needle in. It was my first trip to the hospital and my first needle jab... n so, enough said.
Because of this fear, i cry whenever i have to take blood test.. But thank goodness to theories such as peer pressure, i haven't done that in public yet. haha... ^.^
ms. ranjani recently had an interest in donating blood to the Red Cross and the Blood Bank. I know it's for a good cause, but ouch... a needle poke and maybe side effects... so that's what stopping me again. But seriously, she's really determined to donate it. And the opportunity came when mr. mingzhou's fren's jc lecturer had an appeal for blood type B+. the lecturer is suffering from leukemia. i am actually also blood type b+ but on hearing about donating it, i called ms. ranjani instead. what a sucker i am. haha...
but it's a real appeal. Anyone who's reading this blog, please call Esther at 97405174 regarding the donation.
I still maintain that i will not be donating. personal fear. i know i need to overcome them. but... it's not as easy as it seems. one day i will.
