I did something really cute today. I 'babysitted' my two youngest cousins today for a short while in the afternoon. Yep, they may be the youngest in the family but they are certainly not that 'baby-ish'. One's primary 6 and the other is in secondary 2.
What's so amazing is that, they make me wonder how it feels to have siblings? Though half the time, the both of them including Eunice will be bickering with each other, but at the end of the day, they always make up and just forget about everything. I on the other hand, have only bickered with my parents and sometimes with eunice, but that's about it. We don't pull each other's hair, scream at each other or just beat up each other (just in the name of fun btw).
Sometimes, the absence of someone who's around your age can be a little lonely. There's no one who shares your Gen's jokes, understand your Gen's lingo and just know exactly what you are going through in school/ with friends. Which is why I often hang out with a lot of friends because of the lack of erm... sibling support?
There are times where i wish i had a sibling but often, i thank God that i don't. I normally am proud of it - being independent and being a 'spoilt-brat'. And i used to hate it when people just rub it in that they expect single children to just be plain lonely, antisocial and having a problem with their attitudes. I don't deny that i was once like that, but I am thankful that I grew up amongst fabulous people who love me a lot and who taught me well.
As much as I envy those who have siblings, i am thankful that I have great companions along the way. Be they my friends, cousins, uncles, aunts, dad and mum, they rocked my life and made me who i am today.
So don't fret, if you are having sibling trouble/ loneliness... always remember you've got ppl around you. And if you don't, well, i'm here. =)
*peace*
take care. God bless.
